Mental Health Curricula Project

The first Mental Health Curricula for Dietitians Project aimed to improve entry level dietetic competencies in relation to mental health. The project was funded by the Department of Health and Ageing as part of the Australian Government's commitment to the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) National Action Plan on Mental Health. The Plan includes a number of reforms aimed at improving services for people with mental illness, their families and carers.

DAA receives grant for Phase 2

DAA recently received additional funding from the Department of Health and Ageing to implement the second phase of the Mental Health in Tertiary Curricula for Dietitians Project. The project will start in mid August 2008 and will identify, assess and provide materials for the classroom, and provide supervisor training to support entry-level dietetic training in mental health issues. These materials will also be available to members for professional development.
