Professional Standards
You can be confident in consulting an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).
- Only Dietitians who are DAA members and/or APDs are subject to a Code of Professional Conduct which is supported by a Statement of Ethical Practice.
- DAA has Complaints and Disciplinary Procedures which enable it to enforce the Code of Professional Conduct and enforce a range of sanctions.
- If you are consulting or engaging a Dietitian, for any reason, the brochure 'Consulting a dietitian? Your rights and responsibilties' (below) tells you what you should expect and what is expected of you.
DAA position statement on Electronic Clinical Consultations
This brochure (Consulting a dietitian? Your rights and responsibilities) also outlines how you can make a complaint should that be necessary.
